The New Animated Series' Introductory Sequence Selected the Incorrect Critical Role Song

The Mighty Nein, the newest animated series by the beloved role-playing group, revealed a new opening credits. It features our favorite group of outcasts, misfits, and criminals fighting hard and making their mark, while teasing at multiple heart-wrenching backstories for key figures such as Liam O'Brien's mage Caleb, and Travis Willingham's warlock orc, Fjord.

All in all, the intro looks amazing. However, I felt that an element was missing in the song choice.

This sequence uses "Welcome to the Continent", an exceptional composition composed by producer and singer the talented musician. This piece originating from the official score of that title, the second one released by the production company's music division their music brand. It's a wonderful sentimental option, and I believe that fans of the second campaign will appreciate its inclusion.

But for me, The series' intro fails to capture the excitement and excitement that was part of the second campaign's live-play sessions. "It's Your Turn", composed by musician Jason Charles Miller, became an immediate hit in my view when it was first revealed in that year, and it improved further when co-founder Sam Riegel added lyrics to the tune for the series' animated intro in the later year.

Including singing from one actress, another performer, Travis Willingham, as well as the writer, the song was memorable and enjoyable. At the time, I hadn't even watched the second campaign at that point, but this was such an earworm that I still saved it on my device. This track that knows how to get you pumped before you start an installment of fantasy hijinks.

The show's intro with "the new song" fails to hit the same chords for me. It's a grand piece of music, but based on my understanding of this party, I can't help but feel that its mood is a little off.

Naturally, the creators has already said that the series will have some surprises and variations from the original live sessions. A tonal change for its opening appears as one of them.

The Mighty Nein will be released on the streaming service from November 19. For those eager until then, or want a head start to learn about the characters of the second series, the actual play are accessible on Spotify and the video site.
